2013 Salute to Youth PROGRAM - Salute to Youth is a program of the Degree of Honor Foundation that recognizes high school seniors who have demonstrated a commitment to community service. Students are sponsored by local businesses, organizations and individuals, and are recognized at a banquet each year.  Salute to Youth works closely with administrators from these public and private high schools to bring Salute to Youth to as many schools as possible.

Over these last 50 years, Salute to Youth recipients have helped changed the communities and world we live in through their extraordinary voluntary efforts.  They have made contributions to a  countless number of social causes for which they have passion, both locally and away from home. These young people have truly demonstrated that today’s youth will be our leaders of tomorrow.

Nominations will be accepted from any of the public and private high schools in the metro area.   Students eligible for recognition must have made outstanding contributions to their communities and/or humanity and must have a minimum High School GPA of 2.75.  Recognition includes an awards banquet for the recipients and their guests; a press release for their local paper; and a plaque commemorating their recognition.  As funding allows, several scholarship awards may be given to support high education endeavors.  

Final number of recipients and scholarship amount will be dependent upon fundraising results
