Degree of Honor Salute to Youth

HISTORY : For over 50 years, Salute to Youth has been recognizing high school students, for their outstanding efforts to lead a balanced life as demonstrated through their various contributions to community and humanity. The Salute to Youth program was operated by a group of local Minnesota non-profits from its inception through 1998, at which time the group was disbanded. At that time, effective with the 1999 program year, the Degree of Honor Foundation assumed complete responsibility for continuing the operation and mission of Salute to Youth.

PROGRAM : Salute to Youth is a program of the Degree of Honor Foundation, a Saint Paul, Minnesota based 501(c)(3) organization. The mission of the Degree of Honor Foundation is to financially support the educational and social needs of our members and their communities. This mission is accomplished as the foundation seeks endowment funds to support this goal, helps donors achieve their financial charitable goals, provides responsible and effective financial management of the funds, and distributes funds according to donor intent and community priorities.

MISSION OF THE SALUTE TO YOUTH PROGRAM: The mission of the Salute to Youth program is to recognize and encourage contributions to the community and humanity by today's young people. In addition, by creating peer role models among those recognized, the program strives to increase interest and participation on the part of other young people in following a path of service.
