Elkins lodge #521 was honored for their volunteer service during the past year at the first annual recognition breakfast hosted by the local Salvation Army. In addition to completing the Salvation Army local and national projects, the lodge was also recognized for distributing school supplies, Thanksgiving food baskets for needy families, and Christmas gifts for area youth. Dixie Martin received a certificate on behalf of Degree of Honor from officers of the Salvation Army. Representatives from several local organizations was also recognized.

| WV-521. The Elkins Lodge partnered with the WVU Extension Service Staff Assoc. and collected donations valued at $1,473.00 for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Morgantown, WV. The House serves over 1,700 families a year and their donation will help create a pleasant atmosphere for the families and children in their time of need. Accepting the donations, Crystal Chisler, the RMH manager, said "we are able to provide a 'home away from home' because of people like you." | WV-521. "Hooked On Fishing Not On Drugs" was the theme of an Elkins Lodge event where members fingerprinted and took DNA samples of children for safekeeping. | |||||||||||||

| The Elkins Lodge had 135 volunteer hours, prepared and distributed Christmas gift packs to 201 youth, and contributed $100 to help purchase gifts. Great Job! | |||||||||||||
