Silver Lake Chapter 182: The Collectors!

Silver Lake Chapter 182 has been busy collecting things for the good of the community.  This year we collected 551 empty pill bottles that were given to our Area Faith churches to go to the mission in Guatemala and 20.1 pounds of pop tabs that were delivered to McDonalds for the Ronald McDonald House. We also collected and picked up paper for the Knights of Columbus paper drive.  The money collected went to the swimming pool fund.  We gave 3.5 pounds of postage stamps to ZCBJ and 5.8 pounds to the legion Auxiliary.  We also gave 1652 greeting cards to the Senior Center to be made into new cards which they sell.  We divide the labels and milk caps between our schools.  We were able to give each school 483 different labels and box tops and 826 food receipts.  The money redeemed by them is used for operating expenses, which we know is a difficult area for schools these days.

Marcella Gets the Family Involved

Marcella Hoemke still comes to Joseph's Coat every Tuesday for at least two hours.  These two photos are when her family, her daughter Carol and Husband Rich, Grandson Bill, and two great grandchildren came with her to help.  Carol and Rich come every Tuesday with her.  She has taught her entire family how to give to others.  It’s all the more amazing given that she is 96 years YOUNG!!
